Two little girls

I got back from church this morning, and read seraphimsigrist's story of a picture he had seen of a little girl in Israel signing a shell, shortly before it was fired at Lebanon. And she signed it "From Israel and Danielle".

I looked at that web site, and have seen it referred to by others, but I don't like it.

I've tried to work out why, and after thinking about it, I think it is because it just piles up images of death and injury, but doesn't say much about the circumstances in which these things happened. They could be just about anyone, anywhere.

Yes, I linked to a picture of a dead child, but the circumstances of her death were known, even if her name was not.

I found your blog through the Holy Archangels Monastery blog and then clicking through your other blog.

I have purposely avoided the American news on this subject simply because I don't think they get it. Lately, to my complete dismay, its been about "how will this effect the mid-term elections." !! How appalling that people would reduce such tragedy to ephemeral gains of an American election.

I've noticed that the Britsh news sources like BBC and Sky have not been throwing around the factoids quite as much, as the evidence is piling up pretty rapidly that Israel is mainly targeting Lebanese civilians, and Hezbollah is mainly targeting the Israeli military, though they do also hit civilians. But considering that their weapons are not the "precision" ones the Israelis have, I think even the British media are beginning to see what's going on.
