A couple of weeks ago my son, who works in a bookshop, came home with a book The big ugly monster and the little stone rabbit. Though I haven't read Holy blood and holy grail, I have read The messianic legacy by the same authors. The good point of The da Vinci code is that at least the latter is a genuine work of fiction, and not fiction masqueraiding as fact, which is what Baigent et al do. And like all conspiracy theories, it becomes tedious quite quickly.
