(I am not an art critic, so apologies if the following sounds like complete bollocks. ;-))
Now, to me...it's like an underwater-pool-looking-up POV (or possibly a reflection in said pool), with Snape on the bottom left looking up into a tree. Very pensive, and the swirling of colours reflecting his emotions...
Having said all that...it's not a depressing picture by any means, either. More contemplative. And I love the reds and oranges in the top right.
I really like it!
I know it's a bugger when colours don't come out quite the same on a scan (I posted a horribly bleached-out slashpic once, which made it look as if I couldn't apply colour at all :-S) but this one is thankfully still very vivid.
I look forward with keen anticipation to the advent of the tablet and what you'll produce with it...(& I want one of those!)
