On Nevermore, Dazzleland, and Supernatural fiction

What I find fascinating about the reaction to Nevermore, the first Supernatural tie-in novel, is that the fans don't ask, "Is it as good as the series?" but "Is it as good as the fanfic?" Which says much about the calibre of the writing in this fandom.

I keep hearing about how the latest Stargate novels were written by fanfic writers after an open call for submissions. I'd love to see the same thing happen with Supernatural - I can think of at least half a dozen writers whose work would be a good fit. big_pink is definitely one of them - I would buy Red in hardcopy in a heartbeat.

Hmm, I have no idea how responsive the publisher would be to that suggestion. But I can't find any information on more novels scheduled to be released, so it's possible there is room for new novels to be contracted. The publisher is HarperEntertainment, an imprint of HarperCollins, contact details on their website.
