There used to be a term for it in the old days - 'gafiate', from 'Getting Away From It All'. It was a way to describe the process of growing inactive in fandom, or the decision to leave it entirely

I call that my "out of anime" phase, which happens to me rather often. I kinda think it keeps my fandom alive, taking a short jaunt into reality like that. It's what made me the old fangirl I am today.

Great to see you back (again! Are you really back this time> ;) ). I find that the longer I don't post the harder it gets to start again - and I'm only talking in timescales of a week or two.

Have you been watching Stargate: Atlantis/ I've been watching that on tv and the original Battlestar Galactica on dvd, and currently have the most *insane* Rodney/Starbuck/Faith crossover consuming my brain.

So, how's things?

Not bad - been mostly busy with work lately, which is kind of disconcerting, because it makes me seem like one of those respectable people who get sucked away from fandom by Responsibility. Which is a fate I still hope to escape.

I've been following quite a few shows, but Stargate: Atlantis seems to be one of the ones I've missed (probably because I never followed the original Stargate). So I have no idea who Rodney is, and I only know the original Starbuck by reputation, but any crossover involving Faith is bound to set off fireworks.

I understand what it's like to be gafiated. Actually despite all that crap I post about on my LJ, I hardly even watch anime anymore, and I've not touch a volume of manga for like ages.

I just go to events, and events only. XD
