I buy my ebooks from webscriptions.net
Luckily my tastes run to science fiction/fantasy
Baen publishing pays they authors more for the electronic versions, and doesn't use any kind of DRM on the files so you can read on any reader

THANKS! that looks like an amazing resource. I really appreciate the link. Scifi/fantasy is what I prefer as well, so that sounds perfect.

Any authors from webscriptions you enjoy in particular?

Lois McMaster Bujold and David Weber are probably my favorites there

There's also a free library http://www.baen.com/Library/
It has the first book or two of many of the series which is nice for trying things out
