it was time to, once again, come forward with the question of government surveillance, government intimidation, and the right of citizens to vocally dissent. I often think that security is better accomplished through detection (followed by correction) than prevention, and I think that this is sort of getting at that. We don't need a world where our government never does bad things; that's just naive. What we need is a world where, when our government does bad things, *we can catch them at it*. (And, this will deter them from doing bad things, which is great, but which isn't even the main point.)
