Interface. Fun, strange, plot does not compute. Pretty much what you'd expect of Stephenson.

Swordspoint is definitely better than the Luck series. (Glad you enjoyed it. :) I need to reread it, too, now that I've actually done some fencing!) The second in the Flewelling series is better than the first, though. (The first felt a little "immature" to me.) Haven't read the Swordspoint sequels yet. (So behind.)

I liked both Swordspoint and Fall of Kings--at the time I liked Swordspoint better, but now that some time has passed I think I actually liked Fall of Kings better in retrospect.

Since I've known Ellen for many years, I have read most of her work. Swordspoint is one of my favorite novels not only for its story, but also for the richness of the language and descriptions of scene. I would definitely recommend Privilege of the Sword. Fall of the Kings is good, but has a very different feel to it. The two Flewelling series are quite good, and I like the second far better than the first (which while enjoyable, reads more like a first novel than a mature work).
