I read "The Master" as The Master from the first season of Buffy, and it still works if you appropriately modify "renegade Time Lord" to "ancient vampire with some organizational skills."

So far, I'd rather vote for Michael Palin, Cthulhu and The Master rather than Sarah Palin. And I am not even American! But hey, nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!

I agree. Because really, if I'm to be reasonable, Sarah Palin is better than enslavement and annihiliation by the Master's robot-cyborgs from the future, but on the other hand, the Doctor isn't going to come save us if Sarah Palin screws up and starts World War Three: Nuclear Winter Edition. But as we all knowm the Doctor will always save us if it's the Master. :D
