Not very coherent thoughtsharimadDecember 20 2013, 17:01:51 UTC
But now that my kids are living in a neighborhood, going to a daycare, that I could never, ever, ever afford except for Mr. E's money, I guess I feel like I had better up my appearance game. Because we know what happens to kids' standard of living when their parents get divorced, you know? This is a huge leap, but I can't tell if you've decided that's definitely the reason, or are considering it as a reason or what. I have some thoughts about other possibilities (as a general case; not meaning I know what's inside your head). I did share this with my spouse, with the joke that if that's the case, *he* should have upped his game. (I'm the one with the paycheck, he's the stay at home
( ... )
I never realized before parenthood that I would have to go shopping RIGHT NOW because my child had outgrown all her pants. My favorite time was when she outgrew her pants on the way to the airport for thanksgiving. Put them on that morning -- they seemed to fit. When I noticed they were unbuttoned at the airport and tried to button them, she gave me a sourpuss face and I had to rifle through the suitcase for another pair of better fitting pants.
Interestingly A has had to take on many more of the parenting jobs than I because my work really keeps me away a LOT. Now, I find that my threshold for dirty is lower than his, so I end up doing more cleaning. But he does LOTS of daycare pickups, changes, bathtime, playing, disciplining, bedtimes, etc.
I think when home we split pretty evenly, but to be honest I'm just not home as much as he is.
