the amnesty 'amendment' is over 1,000 pages long & fails to do what it was promised to do

THEY'RE LARDING THE AMNESTY BILL WITH MORE PORK, MORE BUY-OFFS, MORE SLEAZY
SPECIAL INTEREST SPENDING AND NO ONE WILL READ THIS MONSTROSITY BY TOMORROW
Which is when they'll VOTE on it and supposedly pass it in the Senate.
A 1,200 page "amendment" (the border security is about 120 pages but the entire bill was revised to offset it's impact and add new levels of pork and spending) was billed as finally settling the "secure the borders" issue and it makes it worse. When a critic goes on the national news program he is badgered and basically asked why Republicans hate immigrants!
Unfortunately, with so many timid Republicans willing to listen to the same consultants who cause them to lose elections, the play works on far too many - and they will bow to the Democrats and (if the House concurs) basically destroy what's left of the GOP and help eventually install a one-Party government with virtually no checks-and-balances and no effective separation of powers.
And probably not 1 person in 5 or maybe even 10 knows what's happening.
They've been lying about this bill non-stop in ads on TV and discussions by pundits and the media have been shameless in their coverage because THEY WANT THIS FUNDAMENTAL TRANSFORMATION OF AMERICA.
You'd think "fool me once" would apply after the disaster that is ObamaCare was passed and virtually everything Obama and the Democrats claimed would happen has been a monstrous lie - but apparently not.
Our founding fathers, people like Madison and Franklin stressed we needed a virtuous and informed citizenry for the republic to survive. Thomas Jefferson said, "If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be."
The descent of this nations in 4 short years is truly breathtaking to behold - and I basically predicted it.
Still, it is truly stunning to actually see in broad daylight what you have only previously imagined intellectually. Never underestimate the ability of people to say almost anything, to reach so far down into the mud pits in order to get what they want.
Let's face it - there are to many people who like "stuff" from th government, not enough to destroy America by themselves, but when tens of millions of people sit back and do nothing this is what we get.
