I am still kinda shitting myself about the speech. Any and all credit must go to the formula that I stoledistilled from the speech the best man - one Mr Luke Edmunds - gave at my brother's wedding

I used to be terrible at recieving compliments too, but then my Year 7 teacher gave this amazingly effective speech about how rejecting compliments makes you a bad person, and ever since then i've tried a bit harder to be gracious, even if i don't agree with the compliment being paid.

It was a good speech, by the way.

There is also a Wikihow article, which I didn't read beforehand. It has some nice tips (some of which I could have used), but no template. Unfortunately, there was no real room to fit a template into the Wikihow standard article structure.
