Title: Antebellum
Pairing: Spirit/Stein
Words: ~1,200
Genre: Drama pastfic.

Other Notes: I realized partway through this that my mental image came from a dim memory of a piece of fanart, which shows young!Stein sitting in the center of an empty white examination room; I combined that image with the idea that maybe Stein had ( Read more... )

this

was really cute.

i'm on break from work so i can't write too much since i have to run away forever, but this is my favourite part.

Later- years later, even after
(all the pretty little silver blades lined up in a row in the tray, and he was horrified to realize that he felt no sense of betrayal)
having his heart
(watching her walk away, so confident…watching the end of their partnership, their marriage)
broken again and again
(“papa, papa,” she used to sing in her sweet voice, like light-winged birds lifting, and she held her arms up for him, she used to smile just for him…)
- he still couldn’t find it in him to feel regret for being born with that flaw.

i loved how it read.

LOVELY

WILL LEAVE THIS OPEN IN CASE I THINK OF ANY OTHER COMMENTS TO COMMENT AFTER WORK

i think you may have just inspired me to write shinigami

YAY~! Thank you for your kind words!

Shinigami was fun to write. I kept having to try to think of ways to describe how he was speaking. I mean, I know that anyone reading fanfic is already going to know what the character sounds like, but that's not the point. The point is to play with the details.

;3; / you're so welcome. I think the way Stein's written here is my favourite in the pieces you've written so far. I ALSO HOPE TO HAVE MORE KIND WORDS FOR YOU IN THE FUTURE. WRITE A MILLION THINGS FOR ME TO LOOK AT!!

And, yeah, I definitely know what you mean. I actually have the opposite problem sometimes, though! I have a few dialogue-only pieces. I have no idea if I should post them or not, because it's like "...it's just dialogue!" They're not very long, but I can't really justify making a post about it.

This is really awesome. Totally love it. Especially the ending - one of the most perfect nailings of Spirit's character I've ever read. I almost cried when I got to "having his heart broken again and again - he still couldn't find it in him to regret being born with that flaw." That's so very perfect and so very Spirit. That one sentence encompasses all of his best and worst traits together, from his devotion to his loved ones to his inevitable infidelities. Perfect!!

I admit to being hopelessly in love with Spirit, and so of course that shows when I write him.

Thank you!~♥

This story had such an amazingly easy flow of words, I absolutely adored it. Amazing, simply superb.

I like the way you presented the relationship between those two, eccentric as it is. :3

Adored it very much~!! You're an amazing author! I hope that you decide to write some more for this fandom. x3
