was really cute.
i'm on break from work so i can't write too much since i have to run away forever, but this is my favourite part.
Later- years later, even after
(all the pretty little silver blades lined up in a row in the tray, and he was horrified to realize that he felt no sense of betrayal)
having his heart
(watching her walk away, so confident…watching the end of their partnership, their marriage)
broken again and again
(“papa, papa,” she used to sing in her sweet voice, like light-winged birds lifting, and she held her arms up for him, she used to smile just for him…)
- he still couldn’t find it in him to feel regret for being born with that flaw.
i loved how it read.

Shinigami was fun to write. I kept having to try to think of ways to describe how he was speaking. I mean, I know that anyone reading fanfic is already going to know what the character sounds like, but that's not the point. The point is to play with the details.

And, yeah, I definitely know what you mean. I actually have the opposite problem sometimes, though! I have a few dialogue-only pieces. I have no idea if I should post them or not, because it's like "...it's just dialogue!" They're not very long, but I can't really justify making a post about it.
