squee!!

Wonderful stuff. I am, quite frankly, terrible with reviews, but suffice to say that your characterization is wonderful - Morgan's skepticism, Emily's determinations, Garcia's Garcianess, Dean's casual arrogance. Perfect. I very much look forward to the next update.

Thanks very much!!

And you are most certainly not terrible with reviews. You are, in fact, awesome with them!

Yay! Another chapter! I'm kind of wondering if they did discover Dean was innocent, if he would even want to leave jail. I can't wait to see where you take this.

To be honest, I think Dean doesn't really care where he is as long as he's by himself to wallow. Unless, of course, he's in a situation like the current one, where he feels he has to save people. But it would've been an interesting take if it were more the BAU requesting Dean's help instead of Dean offering it. Hmm...

This story is like the silver lining in a week otherwise composed of midterm hell. I knew there was a good reason I stayed up so late tonight!

Your Dean is in such an interesting mental place. (God, that sounds awfully insensitive considering...I mean, he'd be quite the woobie if he wasn't so Dean, you know?) I love that he's drawn to the hunt even still; you can really tell that the "Saving people, hunting things" mantra is completely ingrained into his psyche. Most of the time authors skate closer to one side of the equation than the other, but I like the balance you've worked into your story. I love that he wants to retreat back into his own mind, but yet doesn't, because he can't turn his back on people who need his help. Dean reminds me so much of that exchange between Garcia and Morgan at the end of that comic book episode, where she tells Morgan how much he reminds her of the "noir hero". omg someone needs to get those three into a room with each other pronto; morgan can teach dean about the wonders of self-esteem and ( ... )

*tear of ridiculous happiness* That's such an awesome compliment! I mean, on the one hand, I wouldn't want you to lose studying time and whatnot, but on the other, more selfish hand, you have flattery down.

Poor Dean is at mercy of his own upbringing and mind no matter what he tries to do. He wants to escape from everything, but finds he can't when he's confronted with a situation whose outcome he can possibly change. It's nice that you brought up Garcia's "noir hero" thing, because that's actually exactly what I had in mind when I was writing this. Both in Morgan's part and Dean's. They're both reluctant heroes, forced to do/consider things they otherwise probably wouldn't.

Also, don't worry. Morgan and Dean will be in the same room soon enough. ; ) I'm very much looking forward to writing them and Garcia, and wish the interaction could really happen on screen. Ah, well.

Thank you so much again for your comment!!

I'm really enjoying this fusion of two of my fav fandoms. You've captured Dean perfectly here. He's just how I imagined he would be if he really was forced to kill Sam, broken with no consideration for his own well being or future but still at heart the noble, caring man we all know and love.

I'm looking forward to seeing him interact more with the gang from CM- and watching as they have their eyes opened to the world of the supernatural.

Great job!

Thank you!!

I, too, think Dean's got that dual personality where he's in a very dark place, but at the same time can't refuse what's been ingrained in him since he was four, much to his chagrin. Though you probably guessed that from this chapter. Ha.

Yes. Our characters are spot on. Morgan has his preconceptions but he's always been fair and Dean, now that he has a mission again... now that his sense of duty has been roused... is much more himself.

Can't wait till the next chapter... want to see what Morgan makes out of Winchester case history...

Thanks! I couldn't keep Dean wordless and depressed for too long, after all. Not that he's even sort of out of his depression, but at least he's talking now.
