Oh my gosh, I just adore this fic! It's one of those where I feel breathless with anticipation watching Remus and Tonks learn and grow and essentially be made ready for each other. It's a wonderful ride, which makes me look forward to the pay-off because it really means something in light of the journey.

The pastoral setting for this is lovely, and I think really showcases your ability to write interesting narrative that's rich on story and doesn't get bogged down in description. Your dialogue is impeccably chosen, too, and the little snippets of backstory hit the emotional chord just right.

Brilliant job with the Greyback bit, too; I think that you didn't go into the gory horror of it makes it so much more scary.

So, so good.

Thank you! You're right... it's the journey that's the important thing. And that's what I was trying to explore in this fic. I had always felt that there must have been something behind those little snippets in OotP. They seemed to me too much like friendship budding into something else. But I always felt there must have been some kind of catalyst.

I'm glad you like the Greyback flashbacks too. I did wonder about putting them in at first, but then I realised that they needed to be there to remind everyone of Remus' emotional state and just why he was having difficulty moving the relationship to the next level.

I hope to post the last part over the weekend. I'm done with it, but I just like to sit on these things for a day or so before I post. Thanks for your encouraging comments!

Again, wonderful.

I think your use of Oliver and Alice is fantastic, not only as expositional characters but in their relationship with Tonks, both of them helping her to discover more about Remus.

I can't wait to read more of this.

Thank you so much! I'm glad you've enjoyed it. I have been on a bit of an OC spree at the moment, so it's pleasing that you think they are believable and useful to the plot. More to come very shortly. :)

Again, very detailed, very easy to understand, and just plain beautiful!

What I liked about this one, was that you added more dialogue between the characters, not only Remus and Tonks, but the other OCs.

I love that she had the courage, the need to go to him, and that he let her, cuz he needed them.

I'll leave it short cuz I just saw that the third part is up, and I can't wait to read it and see what happens between the two.

Great job, again! :D

I'm stupid! I meant her not them!

I'm sorry it took me so long to have a chance to read this, but it's lucky for me that I don't have to wait between parts. ;) I'm enjoying this immensely.

Good heavens: There was only one thing for it. Bracing himself, Remus stepped out from behind the hat stand and faced Greyback. Such a brave little boy, and definitely in character for Remus.

Wonderful use of light and weather metaphors to show that today may be a little brighter: spider webs glinting in the budding sunlight.

Tonks is still in suspense, and Remus is still thinking about her. I really liked this line: His foot scuffs in the dusty ground and he takes a deep breath of the cool lake air, gathering himself for the asking. And it was poignant that Tonks went to find him on the island, without him asking her to -- it shows that she's willing to try to break through into the solitary world he's built around himself.

As others have said, Alice and Oliver are wonderful here, and the kinds of support and reassurance they give are just what Remus and Tonks need.
