This is a nice premise. Given Hermione's relative isolation from female friends and role models (and confiding in Ron's mother is hardly an attractive prospect here), it makes a lot of sense that she might try to talk to Tonks. I like the contrast between Tonks's apparent surprise that Hermione would come to her for advice, and her admission that Ginny had already done the same thing.

Having Tonks get all distracted when Hermione brings up Remus was cute. Making the Imperius Curse prompt into a private joke was also a nice idea.

One thing that made me wonder -- when Hermione talks about Remus here, she calls him "Professor Lupin," which seems right. But you appear to have her think of him as "Remus" in the narration. I rather suspect she would still call him "Professor Lupin," or at least "Lupin," in her own thoughts.

Thanks, I'm glad you liked the idea of it! :)

Oh, I thought I kept it as 'Professor Lupin' throughout the whole thing cause that's what she says in the books. Perhaps I missed it once or twice and she called him something else on accident! Ooops!

Sorry if my comment wasn't clear! You are very consistent at having Hermione call him "Professor Lupin" when she's talking out loud, in dialogue. What I was thinking about were places like this:

The next morning, when Ron made gagging noises at Remus and Tonks' morning kiss; Hermione pointed her finger at him and said, "Imperio!"

Since the story is being told from Hermione's point of view, I just thought it might make sense to refer to the characters the way she would be likely to think of them. Just a small thought. :) Thanks for the enjoyable story -- nice work.

She’d never before had a crush or an admirer. The fact was that you couldn’t learn this sort of a thing out of a book.

This worried Hermione.

LOL! I love this line.

I think you grasped Hermione and Tonks's character's perfectly, such as Tonks going into a daydream about Remus and forgetting why Hermione was there, and Hermione going through all of her options of people to ask.

Lovely work. :D

I like your idea of Hermione going to Tonks for advice, and developing a private joke! Very fun.

I think Hermione might be 15 rather than 14 though, if I'm doing my math right and this is the summer of OotP. It's a bit late for me to do calculations though... ;)

Fun fic!

Well, I had to fit that 'imperius curse' prompt in there!! LOL.

Oooh, okay. I was never good at math! :P

Glad you liked it!

Very sweet story! I like the idea of Tonks being kind of an older sister figure to Hermione and Ginny...it seems to suit her well.

This is really sweet. I really like the idea of Tonks being "cool" in the eyes of the girls, as well as a sister-like figure to them since they're both pretty much surrounded by boys. I suspect Tonks was, too, as you have painted her here. :)
