Oh, lovely. I'll give you a proper review later, but here is the recipe for wassail that my mother uses. I suppose it's not authentic, but it has no eggs (thus avoiding the spectre of salmonella) and no alcohol (so it's all right for the little'uns).

1 gallon apple juice or (soft) apple cider
1 can pineapple juice
1 cup lemon juice
1 cup honey
2 sticks cinnamon
whole cloves
1 orange
1 lemon

Zest orange and lemon. Pierce skins of orange and lemon all over with ice pick or skewer and stud with cloves. Put zest, cinnamon, lemon juice, clove-studded fruit and honey in saucepan and simmer until honey is dissolved. Pour into large crock pot and add pineapple and apple juices. There will be more juice than will fit in the crock pot, so pour slowly and adjust proportions to taste. Allow mixture to heat through before serving.

While I've had wassail and thought it very good, I would never attempt to make it. I'm not very good with cooking liquids, as the many things that have been hit by me cooking spaghetti sauce can inform you. :D

Very cute. I love the image of Tonks cooking, although not being an excellent cook. It just seems like a good image of Christmas; everyone trying to get into the spirit. :)

Thanks! That's exactly what I thought- she may not be great, but she enjoys making the wassail if nothing else.

Very cute. I can imagine Tonks wanting to be quite the homemaker, until it comes time to actually make the home. I liked the "You're naughty." I kept waiting for an offer to make nice. ;)

Good job! :)

Thanks! Yes, I can imagine her wanting to set up her own version of 'the home.'

Glad you liked it!

I loved the fic btw. it was heart warming.
