I've loved every bit of this fic but I think this part is my favourite. I love the description of Tonks' flat, her clothes, pcitures and purple stuffed dragon :)

There's such a feeling loss throughout the fic and I can feel how they're just tottering on the brink of being something more than friends.

she was all that was left for him, one shiny sliver of hope intangible, like sunlight through a dirty window.

That was a great line! Enjoyed every part of this! Thanks so much for posting!

Very, very real, if you understand my meaning.
Thanks.

I think what makes you such a good angst writer is that you still infuse it all with your impeccable sense of humor; in the case of R/T, it brings a level of bitterness to the table that really suits them (particularly Remus) and makes me ache for them. This is exactly how I could imagine them almost but not quite coming together romantically before Remus is sent away. Their raw need for each other but inability to be there for each other due to the circumstances sets up perfectly the Remus and Tonks we see at the beginning of HBP.

Well done!

How can something be so bitter and wonderful to read all at once? It's completely gorgeous to read this, and unstoppable to feel the lump in your throat. The last line actually hurts to read, as you know Remus has never been able to let it get easier, and it never will. Real life teaches us this, and so does fiction.

Thank you for such a great fic - all four parts in general. If only I had more time, I would love to illustrate stuff...;___;
