The Pink Christmas Advent - Rules & Sign-Ups

Yes, we hope you’ve got your breath back from our last event, just in time for Thanksgiving, holidays and a little something or other called Christmas. It’s our wish this year that metamorfic_moon members both old and new will be signing up to join us for our exciting third annual Advent here throughout December - about which there's a very subtle clue in our header ;) - The Pink Christmas Advent.
The challenge is simple and, we hope, fun for all:
1. Just comment to this thread to sign up, indicating whether you would like to participate as an artist, a writer, or both. You have until Sunday, December 14th to do so.
2. One of Santa's attractive elves, who work part time as mods here (you can recognise us by our green stockings;)), will reply to you with two prompts. Four, if you're signing up to do art and fic.
3. You may create a piece of art/fic that utilizes both prompts. Or a piece using only one prompt. Or several pieces that each incorporates one prompt. Or several pieces using both. Whatever inspires you, any genre(s) you like. So, basically, write or draw as many pieces as you like from either or both of your prompts. ;)
4. The prompts! Those of you who did this last year will remember you had a word prompt associated with Christmas, and lyrics from a carol or song. This time around, it’s a word prompt again, along with a quote from a well known book or a film associated with Christmas. For example, you might get these:
Word prompt: Decorations
Quote: “Well, you look about the kind of angel I’d get. Sort of a fallen angel, aren’t you? What happened to your wings?” (It’s a Wonderful Life)
Or
Quote: ‘“Christmas won’t be Christmas without any presents,” grumbled Jo, lying on the rug.’ (Little Women)
5. Before you sign up, please read through the rules beneath the cut. In signing up to participate in The Pink Christmas Advent, members acknowledge that they have read and understand the following rules and agree to abide by them. Don't skip over the rules - because Santa knows if you've been naughty this Advent! Besides, we all know you’re nice... ;)
The Advent Rules:
A. Length: Submissions must be a minimum of one foot of parchment - or 1000 words. There’s no maximum length, and you can do prequel/sequel fics if you want, but not chaptered ones, please. (The latter makes it difficult for us when it comes to awards and how you fairly compare a lengthy chaptered fic to a stand alone story.)
The art should be a traditional sketch, painting, digital artwork, etc. It must be your own work in its entirety, so no manips, please.
B. Time: You can set your fic or art in any time period you like, it certainly doesn't have to be Christmas, or December, or involve anything remotely festive at all.
You can also make them AU if you want to, as long as you indicate this in the summary.
C. Prompts: You are free to interpret the prompts however you like, but the prompts must be utilized, and not merely mentioned. For example, if one of your prompts is the word “Snow”, then your story might include everyone being snowbound in Grimmauld, how they attempt to get out and what they do there whilst trapped. Not just mentioning it was snowing outside - it’s got to play a part.
Same with the book/film quote - you don’t even have to use all of it, just whatever phrase or word(s) take your fancy in it - but if you’ve got the one about not having presents for Christmas, for example, then that must play a part in your overall story. :)
D. Content:
Relationships
Previous het relationships are permitted as backstory, but no Remus/Anybody or Tonks/Anybody may be depicted within the actual story -- only mentioned as background information (sorry, no flashbacks to the characters' Hogwarts days).
Multicolored Werepups
One of the nicer things about Deathly Hallows was the appearance of a turquoise-haired addition to the family. Obviously he's more than welcome to make an appearance in your fic or art but, again, we're primarily an R/T community, so the main focus should still be on them, please. If you're writing or drawing AU, the same applies, even if you're extending their family, or have gone forwards in time to the epilogue, for example, and fancy having a crack at how R/T are coping with life with a grown-up son...

Manipulations are not accepted here, but you may work in any media you choose, provided the images are your own original work. (References are okay!)
Unsuitable Content
NC-17 submissions will be accepted entirely at the discretion of the moderators. Under no circumstances will we accept bestiality or incest, and other strong themes will be considered for appropriateness.
E. Writers' Ratings: All ratings accepted, (including NC-17), so long as appropriate warnings are listed in post information outside the lj-cut. You can find a ratings guide here. Please note the following equivalents:
K=G
K+=PG
T= PG13
M=R
MA=NC-17
Artists’ Ratings: Any media, rating up to R (so no graphic nudity or explicit sexual scenes, please), but the focus of the piece should be Remus/Tonks, with or without Teddy. Appropriate warnings should be listed in the post information outside the lj-cut.
F. Plagiarism:
Plagiarism is not tolerated at metamorfic_moon. If we find that work posted here is not the work of the member, either taken from another fic writer or fanartist, or is the manipulated work of a published writer or artist, the submission will be deleted from the community, and at the moderators' discretion, the member may be banned from the community.
G. Posting: Posting access will open on Monday, 1 December and run through Wednesday, 31 December. Please do not post your submissions until a "Posting Open" post appears on your f-list.
