I thought this was really delightful - I love the last line, the idea of Remus repeating a mistake and potentially trusting in a different outcome. I thought you really captured a light-hearted banter, and yet conveyed the deeper feelings too.

I'me glad you think so! I really wanted to do a light hearted OotP era peice for this challange (As I've been doing far too much angst lately), but the prompt didn't seem to want to cooperate. So this was sort of my compromise. But it's a great compliment for you to say that I got the light hearted banter right (I worried about it), and I'm glad the true emotion seeped through in the end. Aw...It's so Remus to view sex as something special, that can't be separated from commitment or honesty. I like seeing him with that sort of conviction even at seventeen, and I like even more seeing him willing to take that step with Tonks now. Her reaction to the story is just what I'd expect from her, and I like that she really wants to give Remus that special experience. And of course they end up confessing that it's very much more than just friends with benefits. ;)

Thanks! I had fun doing a happy peice for once, taking a break from angst is always good. The idea for this peice really came to me while thinking about different versions of the Mauraders (particularly Remus')sexual history that I've read about in fanfics. While I've never really bought the idea of him being a virgin (because no man has that level of self control), he also seemed like the type who would not trust himself to be so intimate with someone who he thinks he may hurt or humiliate later, and he also seemed the type of man who would intertwine sex and commitment.
This little story was a way of plausibly explaining it to myself. I must say,I'm very glad that you found it plausible too.
