Tonks really is the epitome of Hufflepuff, and that unswerving loyalty is exactly why I love her so much as a character. You really captured her inner strength here. Such a sad ending, but great work capturing some of the key moments of their relationship that exemplify just what a strong woman she is!
I really like the parallels you draw between these three snippets of their relationship. Sirius's cameo is great, too; it shows how well he understands and cares about Remus under all the pranking and teasing. The end is sad, of course, but it's satisfying in a way to see them fighting together, back to back. But I think the middle scene is my favorite; I really like Tonks going to great lengths to convince Remus that he isn't as awful as he thinks he is. "Do you have a society now?" Hee!
Also -- it's great to see you posting here again, but I'd say you made a good choice to focus on your thesis for a while. ;) Congratulations on that!
I write very few R/T fics where Sirius doesn't at least get a mention, 'cause, first off, he's a blast to write, and secondly, I think he probably had a huge hand in the Remus/Tonks dynamic in the beginning.

But I liked it, nonetheless.
You had me laughing so hard at the 'my kind' thing.
You characterize Tonks very well.
Good job!

Thanks for the congratulations too. I'm glad to be back to this stuff, way more fun than studying nicotine and memory.

I love that you gave Tonks a backbone. She was strong and loyal and just.
And of course I loved Sirius, because really, who doesn't?
