Oh, this is so, so lovely. It's so sad and beautiful and really makes me root for Remus and Tonks to get together in a way I haven't in a long time. I just adore your Tonks in this ficverse and the way she longs for nothing but to be a part of Remus' life, and I love your Remus with his quiet dignity. Even though they're not together at this point they both clearly feel so very deeply. I felt so breathless in the moment when Remus took her hand and closed her fingers around the Father Christmas trinket ( ... )

I'm so glad you thought this was sad without crossing over into pathetic; you're right that that's a very fine line with Remus. And I'm especially happy to hear you thought the vault scene worked, because I was a little afraid that might disrupt the flow (but I kept it in partly because I wanted to set some things up for later in the series -- wedding rings, anyone? -- and I've already written the wine into Second Thoughts).

I'm sure most of Sirius's (manic) festivity in OotP was from his excitement over Harry, but it's fun to think that a little bit of it might have been for old Moony. :)

And you wrote it in an airport, too! Heh -- I wish I could be so efficient! I'd actually been working at this off and on for a couple of weeks. What I did write Monday in two airports and on two airplanes was the library scene, which I obviously couldn't post this without, so I'm glad it got done in time. :P

Thank you for such a lovely review!

Oh this is absolutely beautiful!! ever the teacher, Remus... I love it how you had everybody else, who DO care about him too, distracted... and her caring about him. And that habitual sadness... I think that's very well captured.

Well done and thank you for sharing it!

Thank you for the kind words! I think it's the sad-but-strong aspect of Remus that made me so interested in him in the first place (he's so stoic even when Ron calls him "werewolf" in the Shrieking Shack scene, and that must have hurt pretty badly).

Oh, I did so enjoy this. The quandary of presents and general giving is such a big one in R/T and I think you pulled this off as gracefully as can be -- it's absolutely lovely and I thought the resolution between Remus and Tonks was perfect, as well as the obvious feeling between them which I thought you handled wonderfully and if there was any exposition there I didn't notice it because it all felt so very natural, which makes for the best of fics!

Oh, thank you for the lovely comments! I'm glad you liked the 'giving' theme; I wasn't sure what to do with the "Sleigh Ride" prompt at first, but then I realized that the first and fourth lines are very R/T after all. :)

I'm also glad their feelings for each other come through here -- I'm trying to make it obvious to the audience, even though in the Kaleidoscope 'verse Remus won't figure it out for months. Tonks is getting close, though... ;)
