I think the song is about how her and her SO have kind of grown apart, but she wants to be back to where they were. So the figures in the audience are kind of the state of her relationship, and maybe her thoughts.
The black figure is her fear and doubt invading her mind. Sara and Tegan look scared at the black figure, because indicates the relationship beginning to fall apart. And slowly it grows to the whole audience, as they're running and maybe "straying," the lowest point in the relationship.
But eventually there is one single white figure, which reassures them both because it's like the relationship is beginning to mend again. At least, that's my interpretation. I'm probably completely wrong. WHATEVER IT'S A NEW TEGAN AND SARA VIDEO! THAT'S ENOUGH FOR ME :D
I got the whole black invading thingie. But that's about it. Although I wasn't really paying that much attention to the lyrics. 'Cause I just don't. *shrugs*
I don't really know what the red is though :/ Or why the black figure disappears to drop balloons on them. It at least makes more sense to me than Walking With A Ghost did.
I was upset about it when I first saw the newest promo pics. I think they're trying to be like, Joan Jett or Pat Benatar remixed. Oh T&S.. It's not fun! Don't do it! *collapses into giggles at random joke*
I prefer the FA formatting, myself, but sometimes that site gets overloaded and dies, so I gave you the mirror link as well. =D
Plus if you end up liking it AND I HOPE YOU DO maybe you'll prefer to leave your feedback on LJ instead, though I left mine on FA just for kicks since it's been AGESSSS since I ever posted on there, haha. Oh, high school. XD
