Will someone please tell me why all my favorite childhood memories are available for sale but only at incredibly high prices I would never be able to afford? I mean besides to tempt me mercilessly.

GHOSTWRITER guys. Come ON. But... 385 dollars? Freaking ouch. Ghostwriter was awesome enough as it is, but if that's not enough to convince you, ( Read more... )

Awww Ghostwriter, that was fun :) I miss that show. It's sort of the same dilemma Daria and My So Called Life faces, both selling for hundreds and hundreds; beyond insane.

It's unfortunate that the companies that own these rights aren't intelligent enough to offer them cheaply to our generation now, but just wait a few years and the 'nostalgia' of the 90s will catch up and we'll buy them all like hotcakes. We have to get more "adult" first :P

PBS had really awesome kid shows. They were QUALITY. Just like cartoons in the 90s. I haven't looked into buying Daria :/ Why are television producers evil?

I hope that nostalgia catches up right when I get a steady job so I can afford to go crazy :D

So far it looks like just that GPN place is selling them at all. Ebay has random episodes for sale, but I don't know if I'd trust them not to be just recorded off tv. But if I find a cheaper place someday, I'll definitely post about it.

Doesn't it? I have to thank xkcd.com for bringing it to my attention.

I cannot believe that Bill Nye is so much money.
I now know that if I ever see any of the Bill Nye tapes at a garage sale, that I should snap them up and sell them on ebay. haha.

And I mean, COME ON! They're not even DVDs! VHS, pshhh.

I know, I don't understand how they can justify pricing them that high. I mean, like every science teacher has those tapes. I want to just raid a middle school.

I bet some of the teachers at Larson/Athens would let you borrow them. & you could make illegal copies or something, haha.

Maybe. Larson would have them; I don't know about Athens though. I could ask the Larson teachers, but I don't they even remember me haha.

Also, apparently the DVDs are $3250. *doesn't comprehend*

I think I saw an episode of Ghostwriter and it really, really, REALLY freaked me out. Something about ooze I think. ...or that was something completely different.

Apparently one of my bro's friend's teacher only shows Bill Nye stuff to his class and doesn't teach them or anything.

I KNOW THE EPISODE YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT!!! WITH THE BUNNIES WHO WERE DYING IN THE GARDEN! AND THE TOXIC WASTE!

i was forever scared of ghostwriter after that, and i could never stand the phrase "in the garden" because they had a flashback where one of the girls remembers everyone they interviewed saying "in the garden"

yeah.

Ah, so it was Ghostwriter. Although I don't remember anything about bunnies. Just the ooze stuff. It was all a long time ago. And I think that was the only episode I ever saw.

Aww that's sad. I don't remember it being that scary, but then I don't remember it very much at all. Just the random scenes. I totally remember them interviewing people though. And writing in their little sleuth books with very kid-like handwriting.
