[Catch-Up Entry] - DartCon and What Came Before

The day after we saw Spamalot, there was some confusion about whether or not we were playing D&D and two people (in addition to the one person we knew would be out of town) didn't show up. Therefore, we hung out with MP, talked about Eberron, and re-watched the first batch of episodes of (D&:D related-humor anime series) The Slayers. That was ( Read more... )

My group is just about to start Eberron, with my husband as DM.
I play a Kalashtar Soulknife/Swashbuckler.

NICE. Eberron is what I wanted my homebrew campaign setting to be. A lot of stuff from my own campaign ended up in Eberron, except they did a much better job of it. I'm also a big fan of the Swashbuckler and Soulknife classes.

I had so much fun! And I want to read more of those x-men comics!!! BUt grrr. . . i recently checked out from the library the bit where jean grey dies (again) that you were telling me about. She dies so scott can hook up with the white queen? it just sucks. (but I thought it was very true that all she ever did was die on Scott). I mean really, if one of them was going to die, it should be scott, he's such a pansy!

But I did see Spamalot while in the city (they had some restricted view seats that weren't really restricted view). I had some of the same reactions to it as I did to the new hitchhiker's guide movie . . . not as good as it could be (I thought some of the songs were forced).

I also saw Chitty CHitty Bang Bang, which was great fun!

Hope to come visit again soon!

Yeah, Scott was such a dick about the whole thing. I guess I can chalk it up to the leftover Apocalypse bits stuck inside him or whatever. Still. :P

It's funny, my reaction to Spamalot was almost the opposite of my reaction to HHG. In one case, I liked it, but wish it had fewer recycled bits. In the other case, I didn't like it so much, except for the recycled bits. And my take on the songs in Spamalot was that it was a parody of musicals, so of course the songs were forced!

Yes, come visit again real soon!
