-I'm sad that June is almost over. Where has it gone? It seems like every month I'm always in disbelief about how fast the time has gone. We haven't had much summery weather, and it's been raining a lot these two past weeks, so I think that's part of the reason why it seems like June has barely been here. I'm ready for full summer weather ( Read more... )

I didn't know she was on tour! There are so many shows I want to see and no one to go with, booo. (My local friends are all mostly super busy working multiple jobs, not sharing of my music tastes or kind of broke, so I can't really blame them).

And Anne of the Island is actually my favorite book of the entire series--the others are still good, mind you, but. . .oh, AofI.

I only found out she was going on tour about two days before I bought the tickets and that was because the theater she's performing at e-mailed me. I'm in the same situation as you - I would love to go to more shows, but I have a hard time finding people to go with me. I was actually planning on seeing Regina by myself, but then my mom and sister said they'd like to go with me.

I'm kind of scared to read past Anne of the Island. Well, not really scared, but I'm worried that the rest of the books won't be as good or I won't like where Anne's life ends up going.

I'm so glad you liked the 3rd Anne book! It's such a comfort read for me. I haven't even read the entire series past that point; I read most of the 4th one, parts of the 5th one, and then Rilla of Ingleside, the last in the series, which I absolutely love as well because of Rilla/Ken!

I have no idea who Rilla or Ken are, so I guess I should keep reading to find out. I plan on finishing the series, but I think if I get bored with it or don't like where it's headed, I'll just stop.

If you get bored with the series, just skip to Rilla of Ingleside, the 8th and last book of the series. I promise it's worth the read...some of Montgomery's most beautiful writing is in that one. Montgomery actually wrote it 6th, and then went back and wrote #4 and #6 later. Anyway, Rilla is the youngest daughter of Anne and Gilbert and the story takes place during WWI. The end is the best...I get goosebumps every time! :D

I will make sure that I at least read Rilla of Ingleside. It sounds really good and now I'm kind of anxious to read the rest of the series so that I can get to that last book. And it makes sense that Rilla is Anne's daughter. I just now realized that would be a shortened version of Marilla.

The rest of the series isn't even particularly about Anne, mostly her kids, so you're safe there.

In the author's note (or possibly acknowledgements) for The Little Book, the author says that he based Wheeler on David Crosby... so, picture a young David Crosby but hotter. I loved that book to pieces.

I finished the book before I got to read your comment (our electricity went out and I had a lot of time to read). I really, really liked it! I had no idea what David Crosby looked like when he was younger, so I just googled him to see. The person I ended up picturing for Wheeler looked nothing like Crosby though. It's probably better that I didn't know because no matter how hard I would have tried, I probably would have seen the older, white-haired Crosby.
