Funeral for a friend

I went to a funeral for Capt. John J. McKenna USMC and a fellow Trooper today. I went through the academy with him and now he's gone. That make's it 4 people I've known who have died in Iraq. Hear, hear. I was at John's wake yesterday; I hadn't seen him since he graduated the Academy and I gave him the "Well, you ignored my advice not to do it, so welcome to the greatest job you'll ever hate" speech.

The entire war makes me furious, and the fear-mongering tactics that are used to justify it are lower than low. One of the major reasons we were targeted to begin with is because we were a free society. Giving up civil rights sounds like letting the terrorists win.
