Not cold; it was a fairly warm day, and I'd been wearing the raincoat for a while.

And water wasn't splashing yet-the ride is so toned down that there's only one splash, at the bottom of the fall; this picture was probably somewhere near the top. Oh, and the splash mostly goes away from the log.

Right; in the full version you can see that the back of the "car" has only cleared the drop by about a yard.

Also: I think the automatic photo is deliberately tilted 5-10 degrees, to make it look more scary. Look at the trees in the background (hard to see, since I blurred them for the caption.)

Looks like the icon on the post got switched over to my mad-scientist icon somehow. I've switched it back.
