metafandom is seeking volunteers to join our team. Compilers locate and save links, and may choose to commit to posting the metafandom update one day a week. We are especially seeking volunteers who are familiar with anime, comics or gaming sections of fandom, but volunteers from all sections of fandom are eagerly welcomed. If you think you might be interested in joining us leave a comment on this post or send an email to metafandom@gmail.com.
lian: Rec: The profoundest fact (Inception) - it feels profoundly awkward to leave comments to a story in a personal journal where I missed the instance of posting, that communal flurry of reactions. Missed the moment, so to say, like a late-comer to a party where everyone's already left. So the permanence of the archival story and comments lessens that awkwardness somewhat. -

pensnest: [in writingthewall] How far do you get before they aren't them at all? - Does it matter to you whether an AU is closely canon-based or not? How close is 'close'? Does it make a difference what kind of AU it is? Is it authentic to use our celebrity subjects' real families, or is that unfair treatment of people who didn't look for the spotlight? -

celli: AO3 commenting - I've been reading some discussion (primarily here) on commenting on AO3: who's comfortable with it, who's not, and what factors attribute to hits vs. comments vs. LJ/DW comments, etc. -
