"Why are you going to look different?" asks the daughter of her mother in the car ride back from the doctor's office.

"Not just different, my dear - prettier!" exclaims the mother.

Coming this Mother's day, My Pretty Mommy A kids book from a plastic surgeon.

That book is some rank propaganda. Yuck! But I guess they feel they have to hook 'em early to ensure maximum yachtage going forward.

I wonder if there's a book for when the surgery or family goes wrong?:

Why Mommy's Face Fell Off

Swelling and Bleeding are Pretty, Too!

This Isn't a New Mommy, It's Your Old Mommy Prettier! (Dad has an affair edition, with Pop-ups)

Whatever, let 'em try. There's much more interesting reading that moves through the thought process of this kind of brainwashing, then through to thinking for oneself in books for kids. Uglies (Uglies Trilogy, Book 1) by Scott Westerfeld is the anti-propaganda for this.

But the stupid plastic surgery book still stinks.

I just wanted to tell you that I'm adding you as a friend because you're the only other person on LJ that lists Dan Efex as an interest. Cheers
