On Vox: Cold Brew

Thanks to Danielle, I tried cold brewing coffee last night.
  1. Throw a bunch of ground coffee into a bowl/jar/whatever with water.  (4:1, H2O:coffee)
  2. Cover and let it sit on the counter over night.
  3. Strain.  (I strained once with a metal filter and then again with a coffee filter.  You can go straight to the coffee filter, but I used much coffee ( Read more... )

Well, Chris bought a toddy so we use that now. I think that "flavor" you're missing is the normal acidity in coffee. It is kind of weird to have it missing...

And, I ALWAYS drink coffee before working out. I would just die if I didn't.

OH! I use a much higher ratio of coffee/water. The toddy ratio is 9 cups of water to one pound of coffee. That's really barely just getting the grounds wet. Then the resulting concentrate is what you mix with water, to your own liking.

Just a thought, that may help with the taste...
