Journalism is tough. Good luck on sticking with it, though. I'm sure you're much better than you think... school newspapers are notoriously hard to work for, given most of them are editorially independent and couldn't run a can opener corrrectly if their lives depended on it (or maybe that's just the Daily Beacon).

I was under the impression that college afforded more freedom, too. Until I actually got here, and realized that's just one of those selling points admissions officers use to lure us unsuspecting autonomy seekers. Kind of like "spacious and comfortable living quarters" when they really mean "so tight you you can't roll over without hitting your roommate and a dungeon would have more light."
