Womack is, and has been, my idol since I met him at the 1995 Glasgow worldcon. He's a fascinatingly intelligent man. Besides which, Dryco looks more and more like Halliburton/KBR, and the final paragraph of 'Terraplane' remains one of my top five favorite poems in the English language. I haven't read 'Going, going, gone' yet. But I truly should. Thanks for reminding me. :)
My favorite of the lot so far has to be Terraplane, because of Jake - and Robert Johnson. And yeah, my copy of 'Ambient' is signed. ("Wholesome entertainment for the family.") Heh. It's funny, because he was sitting right next to Geoff Ryman, who was huge that year because 'The Child Garden' and two awards, and nobody had heard about Womack yet, so we really got to talk. I remember him saying he was writing history of a sort. I wish I had a better memory.

Going Going Gone is my natural favourite of the bunch.
All you have to know to explain my choice is what the principle character, Walter Bullitt, does for a living. :-D

I'll be interested to hear what you think of it.
It's the only one I don't own so I've only read it twice. And not for about 8 years. It's due for another reading.
I believe these books to gain from the advance of time...and I think it's difficult for books set in near-future situations to achieve that effect.
