After I watched Eraserhead I got a mind to do some reading about Lynch and was totally amazed by something.

I said I saw Eraserhead for the first time this morning. I WATCHED the movie in 1983, out of my mind on acid with the Retard, but can't say I SAW the film, since all I ever remembered of it was that it sounded like surely it was a primary influence on the initial development of Industrial Music (a correct assumption, as it was released in 1977.) The other thing I remembered was the image of the chicken with wiggling drumsticks which shplurtzed some sort of fluid out of itself.

The rest hit me as nothing but a bunch of distorted and disconnected imagery: which of course it was, since I was out of my mind on acid. Duh ( ... )

That scene you just described about Ras and the breakdown on the road sounds a lot like the movie I watched just before Eraserhead: a Rifftraxed-version of something called Carnival of SoulsIn it, a young woman whose career is playing the organ at church services dies in a car wreck when her car falls into a lake after a guy - for reasons completely unexplained - tries to run her off the road over a bridge ( ... )
