Nice to see the interest in the Phantasm prequel graphic-novella I am working on with artist John Klyza. If you had happened to have had a look at some of those preliminary scans that are shown of the work I'll be colourising, over on

You'd have to anyway...the page got snargled by something with the server that went south - I think they're installing comment spam protection.

I haven't seen any of these movies for years, but I recall them being pretty good. I think I even saw Phantasm Oblivion in the theater...
Damn it, now I want to watch these again...wonder how hard it'll be to find 'em on VHS???

Go get eMule. I dinna even know there WERE sequelae until I went looking around for it.
And since I got karma issues with this one, since I reallyreally want Coscarelli to do the fifth film, I'm contributing to the franchise by getting a CD copy of the original soundtrack. I could really get into looping the sound of the dimensional rift and communing with Choronzon, listening to THAT...and this is one of those rare cases where having it on some format other than mp3 will make a difference.

As a (very active) file downloader/sharer I am not normally plagued with issues about stealing. I'm making a VERY rare exception in this case because damnit, I want to see Phantasm 5 get made.
What I ended up doing was ordering the CD of the soundtrack to the original Phantasm, which is eerie and beautiful and has a track called "Space Gate to Infinity". It's the theme you hear whenever anyone's near one of those dimensional forks, and I've got a hankering to put that track on loop the next time I'm doing...what it is I do with Choronzon. Will be worth it for that alone, and knowing I'm doing my part because schwag sales translate to financial backing in the world of cult films. It shows the producers there's a following for the director's work.
In the case of some Hollywood blockbuster I'd never give a damn, but this is the sort of thing where such gestures do make a difference.
