Okita-san, I'll be going out today. If you require anything, feel free to ask.

Because maybe I should make a habit of him hitting on women that are actually men. causeblocked June 1 2010, 03:33:52 UTC
[Isamu is out for a casual walk, because keeping active at this point is important. He's thinking of maybe even stopping by the item shop when he's done, if only because his talk with Usopp made him curious.

He catches sight of the 'woman' in passing and stops. While there were plenty of others here that were apparently from Japan, he didn't run into too many this... cultured. The teen changed direction, following the woman down the street.]

Hey there. You just arrive?

Your world? So you know you're in a different one?

Hm? [RECOVER, RECOVER] Doesn't everyone live in their own little part of the world? Your life must be so much different than mine, after all. Even though we're both- forgive me, but you are Japanese, are you not?

I suppose you could put it that way... [He'd wanted to MAKE it that way, not too long before.]

And yeah. Born and raised in Tokyo.

[He gets a puzzled look for that.]

Tokyo? I've never heard of it.

[And she gets a raised eyebrow.] You're kidding, right? I thought you said you were from Japan too?

I am. And I'm telling you, I've never heard of Tokyo. Is it a new village?

A new... [he laughs] What, are you from two hundred years ago or something? It's the damn capital.

meshninja June 2 2010, 02:31:37 UTC
[Buh?] The capital of Japan is Kyoto. Tokyo does not exist.

Doesn't exist? I mean, I guess some people still argue that Kyoto's a capital too, but Tokyo's been the main one since the Meiji Restoration.

The Meiji Restoration? [Puzzled. He's never heard of it.]

...You know, after the Tokugawa or Edo period? When are you from?

[Hey there, finally. Names he recognizes.] Edo is a city not far from the capital, and the Tokugawa Shogunate rules over Japan from the castle.

[Whoa. No wonder she seemed so old-fashioned. She was.]

I don't know about anyone else here... but where I come from, the Tokugawa Shogunate haven't ruled for nearly a century and a half.

[So, another person from the future, then. Though this one was from Japan, at least... maybe she could learn a few things. That was the point of all of this.]

Will you tell me about this Meiji Restoration you spoke of?

[Giving a history lesson was not Isamu's idea of a good date, but he wasn't going to turn her away either.]

Why don't we find somewhere to sit down first? We're kinda standing in the street right now, after all.
