Philosophy class this morning contained numerous references to the Nazis as the ultimate example of rationality taken to a wrong extreme (rationality as opposed to subjective ethical caring, as though there's actually a dichotomy

it's such a shame. I feel like Nazi Germany is so rarely used as a proper example, and considering how ripe it is of valuable life lessons, that makes me seven sorts of sad.
