Also, does it piss anyone else off when people use examples they don't understand to illustrate some emotional content? Philosophy class this morning contained numerous references to the Nazis as the ultimate example of rationality taken to a wrong extreme (rationality as opposed to subjective ethical caring, as though there's actually a dichotomy ( Read more... )

it's such a shame. I feel like Nazi Germany is so rarely used as a proper example, and considering how ripe it is of valuable life lessons, that makes me seven sorts of sad.
