Christmas was wonderful, as usual. I spent a lot of time with good people, and was inundated with all kinds of lovely gifts. Highlights: a fleece kitty-ear hat, The Ancient Egyptian Prayerbook, a wooden box with vines and blossoms carved onto the lid, a pretty scarf from Bolivia, and a handheld sander (yes, dammit, I like tools), among many other ( Read more... )

We finally got our Christmas tree put up tonight. It's a little fake one, about three foot tall or so, but it almost looks like a small living tree until you get very close to it. It looks great, and this is coming from someone who would normally refuse to have a fake tree in her house.
