Easter and Rabbits Don't Mix

It's nearing Easter time, and a lot of kids all over the nation are pestering their parents for a pet bunny. The rabbits one sees in pet shops around this time of year are small, soft, and cute, and they seem easy enough to care for. What could go wrong? It's pretty sad.. I've been told by people who have been at the shelter longer, that in a few months we'll get in a ton of rabbits and chickens that people picked up for their kids without thinking about the long term.. :(

Ducks, too. Who can resist a fuzzy little yellow duckling? But when the duck gets big and ceases to be "cute", they're not wanted anymore. I wonder why so many people treat their pets as display pieces? :(

Tell the kids that if they don't take care of the rabbit, it'll be dinner.

I haven't had rabbit in years.

omg u r so meen!

Whenever Paulette (my bunny) is acting up, we threaten to make her into stew. Either that or we show her Richard's hat, which is lined with rabbit fur.
