I didn't know how to answer your genres question because, for the most part, I grab and read whatever looks good at the moment. I don't usually read nonfiction (outside of memoirs)...I think I'd do better in checking off the genres I don't read (Biographies (not including memoirs), 'fluffy lit,'and romance) haha.
I love these polls, though. I'm going to have to check the results :D
No I think you gave enough choices, I just read pretty much everything...I'm pretty eclectic...and sometimes I tend to just grab a book by someone I've never read before if the title or cover interests me. hehe
Of course! If there's one thing I like more than making polls it's taking them :)
I'm big on nonfiction. I've got shelves and shelves of psych, sociology, music biographies, history, etc. clamoring to be read. I feel like, despite how good authors can make a tale feel new, I've already read all the storylines there are to be had in novels- so aside from some scattered sci-fi-ish stuff, I've mostly abandoned novels altogether.
Considering my current non-reading funk, I answered this as if I was myself from the previous year (did that make sense? I'm really tired and delirious). Anyhoo, I read an eclectic mix of genres, but my favorite are: mysteries, romance, chick lit and YA, although I haven't read much of these in the past year since I was trying to broaden my literary horizons.
And I couldn't just choose one best book. I probably should have added Jane Eyre to that list too...
Look at the 40 books I read last year (posted in June), I believe I graded them all there.
I don't really care to read fiction. Most of my "for fun" reads nowadays are stuff that involve topics like self-improvement, personal finance, business, etc.
