I *LOVE* This. I have to admit I totally cheated it and read it when you sent it to me, but it was well worth the piracy.

“I put it back,” Will says, in a sleepy mumble. “Cut myself open and put it back in. Jones took his out, I put mine back in.”

“Your heart?” Jack asks. He presses his palm against Will’s back and feels it beating under Will’s ribs. There is a whole story here that is just waiting to be written. Amazing.

PS? Your shmex is to die-for. Exactly what I wanted at 2:17ESTAM. Fantastically brilliant, thank you.

Yay! I'm so glad you liked it. (I totally would have cheated and read them all when they got sent, too) The prompt really made me think, and it was something where I was like, "either I'm going to really bugger this up, or it'll all turn out in the end," so I'm pleased it wasn't the former.

It'd been a while since I wrote anything smutty, so I'm glad it worked for you. 2am is a good time for that sort of thing.

(Ps. There are three x's in xzombiexkittenx, which might be why you're having trouble with, at least in this case, usernames - I've been told my name is annoyingly complicated o_O oops.)

(It's not just your name, its EVERYONES. Its like LJ deletes any text after the user names. It frightens me.)

Is it wrong that the part with Jack combing Will's hair was the hottest part of this? (Yes, I haz a kink for partners caring for each other. Kill me now.)

Once again, you take the possibly off-putting or borderline repugnant in nature, and make it not only palatable, but kind of sweet, in execution. At least for me. :-)

I figured that since there wasn't any kissing, I should include something that implied a deeper regard for one another than just teh buttsecks. Hair combing is awesome. Especially hair like Will's.

I've been told that borderline repugnant thing before, and you know what, I'm strangely comfortable with that. I'm glad it came across as being almost sweet, since wangst was not my intention oddly enough.

Yeah, it might've been by me. You realize I've been reading since your first LJ foray into POTC (and possibly the Yahoo group before that). Olden times! :-D

sssshhh, you've seen some of my worst stuff! *cringes* Let's pretend some of that never happened eh? It's been like...seven years. Bloody hell, has it really been that long?

I think you might've said something to that effect but I was thinking of how someone in the PBEM I used to play in was like, you have no idea what the nobility are doing, but you're the king of the nasty underbelly of the city. And I realized that was true. I haven't really come up in the world since then ;)

I can't even access that yahoo group but I do remember that. Oh yahoo groups. Sort of pre-lj explosion I guess. I still get emails from it, but that's a forwarding service from an email address I no longer have and might even be defunct now.

Will's green-ish hair just made it right high up there with Jack's first scale (from 'Drea's 'Fractures.') It's a sickness, I know, but this kind of stuff just fascinates me to no end, since the opportunities are endless, and there's that certain something about Will's changing that tickles me the right way. Especially when it's juxtaposed with Jack's un-changing, like you've done here.

So wonderfully embrangled.

I do love the transformative possibilities in this fandom. The only one who stays outwardly the same (of the main characters) seems to be Jack. He changes coats and that's about it. Which I never actually thought of, so thanks for pointing that out! Now I can feel clever about a happy accident.

Try googling viperfish and see what I was thinking with the eyes and backlights. They're freaky-looking critters.

I've almost finished Fracture 7 (which thankfully is the last bloody part) for you, PS.

Boo! I mean, Yay! Um... I guess all good things must come to an end some time.

I like this a lot. Green glowy fishy Will is convincing and interesting, and Jack is, well, Jack. Love his chat with the devil. And another vote for the hair combing--it's not just the combing, but Jack remembering being on the other end of it (and being combable).

Thank you! The idea came from viperfish, which...uh...yeah, I'm not really sure why I picked those. Glad you liked it thought.
