I've had that problem often. You just have to go in and manually do all the formatting with HTML. It's a pain, but it gets it done right. If you don't know any of the coding, here they are:

[b]Bold[/b]
[i]Italics[/i]
[u]Underline[/u]
[a href="www.link.com"]Text[/a]
[lj-cut text="Quote"]Hidden Text[/lj-cut]
[lj user="lj username"]

Replace [] with <>

The problem was, I did that. I went through and did all the coding myself, copy and pasted it into the HTML section of the LJ Post, and hit Post to Journal, and bam, wall of text.

Which was why it was so frustrating.

Recently, for no reason I can see, the code for username eats all my previous words. I have done this several times, in html and in rich text, the results are the same.

I have also ran across the bolding problem. I hope you can resolve them. Good luck.
