Intro and Rules Post
Greetings and welcome to merry_marvels! This is your standard fic exchange, somewhat similar to heroines_fest or 3_ships, only centering around Marvel Comics and TV adaptations. This exchange will usually run during the holiday season, but I wanted a test run during the off season before doing one of those. Therefore, we'll call this "Marvelous New Year"! A chaser to the holiday fic exchanges this year, if you will. Next year we'll be in the thick of the holiday season, if all goes well. With Yultide eliminating the Marvel fandoms one by one, us Marvel fans need an exchange too. ;)
Most of these rules were taken from heroines_fest because it was run so well, with some minor alterations where needed.
Rules:
~Fics need to be at least 1000 words. There is no maximum.
~Fics need to be posted directly to the community. They will go then go into the moderation queue and released on the same day. That way, everyone receives their fic at the same time.
~You are certainly welcome to crosspost your fic to your own journal, but please do not do so until after the fics have been released from the queue in April.
~ You'll receive 4 requests in your assignment. You only have to write one fic, but you are welcome to write more than one if you have time.
~ As for the prompts themselves, they can be from any Marvel Comic or alternative universe (Ultimate Marvel, 1602, MC2, 2099, Mangaverse, Marvel Adventures, or anything I'm forgetting), as well as any TV series based on Marvel Comics (Spectacular Spider-man, X-Men: Evolution, Spider-man and his Amazing Friends, etc.). Your four requests must include at least three different comics, shows, or characters/pairings.
~ In your signup, please make a note if you can only write a certain character in a certain universe. For instance, if you can write Jessica Drew from the 616 but not from the Ultimate universe, you would write "Jessica Drew (616). If I have any questions, I'll send you a message.
~Prompts shouldn't be racist/homophobic/sexist, and shouldn't bash characters or pairings.
~ If you need to drop out/default, all I ask is that you e-mail me as soon as you can! I will be asking for volunteers for potential pinch hits in the sign-ups, so hopefully that will be covered.

~ If anyone in this community is capable of making graphics to pretty up the comm a bit, let me know. I'll make you a co-mod, and thanks for your help in advance!
~ Please promote this fic exchange on your journal, your communities, and anywhere appropriate and allowed. I would love to get a healthy turnout. Although even if this is a small fic exchange this time, that's fine. Most start small and grow.
~ Sign-up will be in a separate post going up tomorrow, most likely. This is the post for any questions, suggestions, or requests.

January 11: Sign-ups start
January 31: Sign-ups close
February 5: Assignments go out.
April 4: Fics due.
April 12 (or as soon as all needed pinch hits are complete): Fics released from queue. Good times had by all.
