That creepy picture made me stop long enough to start reading, and then the creepy story made it impossible NOT to read. Love it! (Doesn't help my fear of closets, though. XD)

It's what I would consider a dark story, but I did feel very cheerful while writing it. Demonic bargains always seem to lend themselves to a banter-y quality :D

To me, this narrator IS a good person because they don't protect an otherwise bad man from his debt/fate. Although, they do gain something in leaving their duties. Are they to lose their soul as well?

See, you bring up all these difficult points ;)

Really, this story is so ambiguous to me. I go back and forth--sometimes the narrator seems self-serving within reason, and sometimes absolutely excessive.
