Haha--I can even *sort* of oblige: my recently-accepted short story features the same world, although slightly beyond the point of apocalypse. It's tentatively supposed to appear in Strange Horizons early next year.

Ditto on the "dark, gleeful thing." It's very.. Anglo-Saxon. Which I know to most people doesn't sound like a compliment. But totally is.

Thanks! Horror is my second greatest passion, running a close second to YA.

In fact, some days, I lament the fact that trashy YA horror is just not popular the way it was in the days when I was eleven and had to battle the librarian to get my Christopher Pike books.
