That's so sweet... that's just... awwwww.

My youngest brother and I are the same number of years apart. I remember being 13 and him being 7 and he drove me absolutely nuts. Now, I'm 32 and he's 27 and he's off in Afghanistan in the Air National Guard as a Staff Sergeant.

This is my first Christmas alone here in Arizona, away from my family in Washington State, and it's going to be odd not waking up with the rest of my family to do the gift thing like we do every year. He won't be home for Christmas anyway and I have to work on Tuesday, so it's as good a year as any to have to miss out on the family traditions I guess.

I didn't mean to turn this comment into something Christmas-related, but it got me thinking about my brother and this time of year and not being able to see him and the rest of my family.

My brother has 2 beds in his room, and every year I sleep in there on Xmas Eve so that we can both get up at like, 4am (or some other ungodly hour) to see what Santa brought. Then he'll fall asleep in the living room on the floor, and I'll grumble up the steps back to bed after discovering that Santa still hasn't brought me what I want.

Family.

Melissa, this is the cutest thing I've ever seen. What's weird is I don't remember seeing that picture of you holdedsing Jeremy, and I have looked at your pictures 1,000 times over during the course of my 16 1/2 years. One of my more recent memories of you and Jeremy was when we went to some mall and met your parents. I bought my mom this little potpourri dish...and the rest is history. Man, this makes me miss your family! *hugs* I love you! Hope you have a very Merry Christmas! I miss the Paynes!

The Paynes haven't gone (and will probably never go) anywhere. Come on over.

I wish he still collected cereal boxes.

Ha, I think they're in the attic. Maybe his chicken bone collection is there, too.
You know, I always think that I'm the weirder of the kids, but now that I stop to really examine it...

Happy birthday to your brother!

That picture of you holding him as a baby is priceless. He's so lucky to have had you for a big sis.
