Who:Marlene, Lily & any other Gryff girls What:Lamenting her lack of confidence When:May 7th before dinner Where:Gryffindor 6th year girls dorm Rating: P for pathetic
In a stark contrast to Marlene's current emotional predicament, Lily was feeling fantastic as she bounded into the dormitory with a spring in her step and a chocolate bar in hand. A chocolate bar which, in a rare fit of deviousness, Lily had pinched from her friend and unofficially adopted son, Sirius Black. She beamed at Marlene when she caught sight of her and flopped down onto the end of her bed.
"Yesterday, I cleaned all of Sirius Black's clothes off his floor and made his bed, yesterday," she bemoaned aloud, the kind of half-hearted complaining that comes from the mouth of one who is too cheery to really feel annoyed. "But I go up there today and the place already looks like a bomb site. Fancy some chocolate?"
Marlene tilted her head backwards to look at Lily.
"Well, boys will be boys," she sighed, twisting her body around and sitting up to face the red head. "Yeah, why not?" She held out her hand for the offered sweet.
"Cool." Lily tore open the bar of chocolate like a child attacking a Christmas present and broke it in half, handing one half out to Marlene. "How's your head doing? You looked like you banged it pretty hard in class earlier."
She reached out for the chocolate with a grateful smile and took a bite. She raised her hand to the bump on her forehead with a groan of embarrassment, thankful at least that she didn't have to share classes with Fabian. The less time her spent with her, the less chance she had of looking like an idiot. She swallowed her mouthful and tried to smile.
"Yeah, it's fine," she said, playing down the fact that she'd had to go to Pomfrey for a potion to help with the roaring headache she'd gotten from the bump.
