As both an artist and a writer from previous years i know it's sometimes a bit difficult to get a balance!
In the old rvb claims the 'description' areas really varied, some were really short like "merlin/arthur modern!au arthur is a polititian, merlin is actively supporting the other cause, this is how they met" (just off the top of my head, you get the idea) some were way more detailed and whilst some of the ideas really weren't for me, some of them really got me excited (just like it is for artists in the acbb i guess?!)
so your prompt can be as detailed as you like, or as open, I know its really fun to bounce ideas back and forth between you and your writer too, once you're matched up :)
Ahh thank you for the advice! (Maybe one of the writers could do a reverse post of what Amphigoury did for ACBB. What to do properly for claims? Maybe? idk *looks around shyly*)
Mine is not complicated story-wise tbh. Its the setting that blew up in my head. I am over-complicating it for myself, not for the writer. Mostly its because I seem to be somehow planning the one thing I find most difficult - rendering metal. But I have been playing with creating an armour design and it has been fun. I will likely end up making it stand alone and come up with a different idea for Merlin Reverse.
You can always make it and then simplify it/complicate it more later? If that makes sense?
I'm not exactly qualified to give advice since I haven't even decided what to do yet, but I can offer you good luck and a lot of positive energy! We'll figure it out! :)
Based on what I've seen of your art and the things you have done for the ACBB I'm sure it will be fantastic whatever it is you have planned.
I wonder if my ideas are too simple and not original enough or my art won't get picked - but I have not drawn anything yet, so all that panicking may be a bit premature.
We have plenty of time to sort things out and I'm sure it will come together.
Ofcourse your art will be picked, it is amazing! Anything you come up is made by you yourself, so ofcourse it is original!
I personally think simple is better because the writer will have creative freedom and they can bounce back ideas that you can work with. Having something concrete may not be comfortable for the writers to develop on it.

You won't be on your own in that regard!! Rendering metal, however, is not a well known subject area for me haha - I'm sure it'll look fab :D
