I really enjoyed this well written, engaging and emotional story. I liked stubborn, bitter Merlin and I can understand the reasoning behind him having and raising Olivia without telling Arthur. Arthur had made it fairly clear (in Merlin's mind) that he and Merlin weren't ever going public, so how would Arthur knowing help?
I loved the little details of Merlin's magic pulling him this way and that, insisting that Merlin stay close to Arthur and finally that Arthur know about Olivia. I have to believe that the magic was acting on Merlin's subconscious and getting Merlin what he wanted even when Merlin wasn't able to acknowledge what he wanted at all. Arthur coming back into Merlin's life and helping raise their daughter was lovely.
Olivia was a charming original character. She was stubborn and manipulative and incredibly nosy as children often are. I'm just sorry that she never got any siblings.
My 'thank you!' response is late as usual but I am so, so glad you enjoyed it! Merlin's magic (not to mention the mpreg! good lawd!) was not originally planned when I started writing this (which was 6k deep when I saw the prompt and thought, 'Hey! I have something that fits!') so I worried a lot about how fluid it would so and knowing it made a real difference is awesome!
Thank you, as always, for taking the time to leave a note! It means the world to me! ♥
This was lovely. I love the slow burn, how you showed Merlin and Arthur as children, growing up together (I loved Arthur the stalker!) and that they were always destined to be together, even when it seemed fate itself was fighting against them. Your characterizations were great, and I liked how you sneacked in knotting as well, one my favorite kinks. I wonder though, why didn't Merlin have more children after he and Arthur got back together after Arthur broke off his engagement and he and Merlin and Olivia moved in together? Or is that a story for another day (I hope?) ? There were just a few grammatical errors; for instance, shutters instead of shudders, but all in all this is one of the best mpreg stories I have read so far. Thanks for the terrific read.
My prompter (who is also a really good friend!) wanted more children, too! I just couldn't rationalise it to be honest. I mean, I certainly wanted to but one secret pregnancy seemed like a lot -- and a second under the watchful eye of the entire world? Whoa. I don't know how I'd manage to even begin to write that.
But I've been told I need to figure something out because I'm either providing more mpreg!babies and giving blow by blow (pun intended?) details of Merlin and Arthur's life or I'm being disowned so... as story for another day, maybe. ;)
Thank you for letting me know you enjoyed it and for letting me know what you'd like to see if I managed to yank another 30k out of this world (and, frankly, I totally could if I had the time). It's great to read and to consider over! ♥

KISS, YOU MADE ME WANT TO SQUEAL/CRY/HUG YOU. The fact that you've recced two of my god awful fics makes me question your sanity BUT it also makes me super, super happy and I there are no words for how much I appreciate it.
Can you be my new best friend? I think I need you to be my new best friend! Haha! ♥
I fucking love this story!! The screwed up, totally warped story of these two is incredible! From kid!Arthur stalking Merlin to teen!Arthur crushing on Merlin and Merlin resenting his royal arse for taking up so much of his mother's time and attention to their awkward, bumbling pseudo-romance and conception of an "impossible" child to their long separation and eventual imperfect reunion. It's really not a romantic story at all, it's far too intense and (at times) ugly for that...which makes it fucking perfect. You take a really surreal concept and make it all too real here. A thousand kudos for this!
I'm totally not one of those authors that makes life sound fun because, sadly, it's not. I love reading fluff fic and I can write over-the-top happiness when I'm pressured but, for the most part, people and life are flawed and that's pretty much how I write it. I wanted them to be as real as possible in an entire fictional world so I'm glad you think I succeeded and that you approved!
And, of course, thanks for taking the time to let me know what you thought. I really, really appreciate it!
