Le Chateau de Pierrefonds - modelled by an architect!

Twitter friend Oviban Kenobi has found something pretty darned awesome on the interwebs...

The architect Andrea Polato of APtecture modelled the Chateau de Pierrefonds in incredible detail as part of his 3rd year thesis. You can see it grow from the ruin it was 200 years ago, through the restoration worked upon it by Viollet le Duc, to its present ( Read more... )

Holy shit that's amazing. I'm going to have to watch the video tomorrow but the images alone are awesome.

I miss the Chateau now, I haven't been in over a year. Might wait until it's less crowded though.

It's so totally awesome, isn't it? What a piece of work!

One day when the filming is finally finished, I will take a delightful, nostalgic, low-pressure trip to Pierrefonds and that whole awesome region... I will never forget Merlin for introducing me to it! Or indeed, to you... ♥♥♥
